The Scars of the Korean War

The Scars of the Korean War still linger in our hearts. The War ended with 3 million casualties, with 10 million people separated from their families,  countless wounded veterans, war widows and orphans. The entire Korean Peninsula laid to ruins.

5. Chinese intervention and a new phase of the War (25 October 1950 - 9 July 1951)
Due to China's intervention on 19 October 1950, Seoul fell for the second time on 4 January 1951. Following a ROK and UNC counteroffensive from Pyongtaek and Samcheok, a stalemate ensued around the 38th parallel.

6. Armistice negotiations and outpost war (10 July 1951 - 27 July 1953)
Armistice negotiations began on 10 July 1951, and bloody battles for patches of land ranged across the frontline. The Korean War Armistice Agreement was signed on 27 July 1953, and the Military Demarcation Line was drawn.
